Who Do You Think Will Win The 2014 French Open?

With the French Open about to start really soon let’s examine some of the fan favourites in the upcoming tournament! For the past four years in a row, Rafael Nadal has won the French Open due to his noted superiority when playing on clay courts. However, this looks like it will change this year due to his recent performance at the Monte-Carlo Masters. His dominance on the surface is being questioned due to his less than stellar performance in the Masters tournament.

Novak Djokovic is also an obvious crowd favourite. However his right wrist injury severely affects his chances of winning this Grand Slam. The French Open has always been the one grand slam that has always eluded Novak and with this injury it might continue to.  With the general consensus being  neither Nadal nor Novak not winning this year’s French Open, who will?

My money’s on Roger Federer as his performance has been exceptional recently. At age 32, he may still have one last chance to become the top player in the ATP tour, especially with the way the season is shaping up. Let’s also not forget Stanislas Wawrinka who won the recent Masters tournament and is in great shape in regards to his recent number of matches. The big names aside, we cannot underestimate the underdogs either. A personal favourite of mines is Gael Monfils. If he overcomes his constant habit of getting injured during tournaments, he may have a shot at the title, albeit a very small shot.

Clearly this year's French Open is unique as the title is really in the air, so who do you think will win?
